DIARY

This won't be so much of a diary, it's more likely to be a collection of odd musings and witterings on a variety of topics and issues that might spill out ocassionally from a "grumpy old man" or just me opening up, but it's pretty much inoffensive stuff.........I hope.

The reasons as to how and why I wanted something like this built into this site is described in the first entry made a few years ago now, maybe I should have stuck to the original idea and called this Bono's Hat rather than simply, Diary...My later entries explain why it didn't change...... At times I may be a gobby bloke from Bermondsey but I certainly ain't rich enough yet to have the arse sued off of me by Messrs U2.

I had hoped that a few other friends would also contribute the odd piece along the way to liven things up, provide a laugh or just comment on those things that happen along the way to make you ask the question, why, but they now seem to have gone off and done their own blogs!

Feel free to mail me if you want to take issue on any point or simply want to join in.

A couple of new roughs that will be worked up into full drawings or paintings have been added to the sketchbook and my work pages today.

UPDATE: I have also just added the reworking of an old drawing I started in 2002, which is a copy of the pose of a Catwoman image done by Olivia de Berardinis, however, I have finished it with a different facial image.

Visions of the night

There was "a bit of a do" to mark the closing night at my brother Matt's first exhibition down in Dulwich last week.

It all went pretty well, quite a few people turned up, he sold quite a few, and got lots of praise and over the life of the exhibition several very good reviews were published. So, all in all, it was a commercial and critical success.

I hope he can sort out another venue soon for his next exhibition, at a more user-friendly location with more hanging space, although having said that it was a great venue and Mel the owner is an all round good soul.

New images - update

Date: 2009-02-01 19:10:19

Author: Pat Kent

I have uploaded some new "old" images to the My Work pages.

They are only roughs and although they should really be on the "Sketchbook" pages a couple have been given a bit more of a "going over" than others and they might be worked up a bit more now that "the studio at the top of the world" is starting to take shape.

This lot shouldn''t create a stink as they are all, other than the one of Yvonne di Carlo, from imagination......and hopefully the Yvonne di Carlo one shouldn't result in her getting the hump. If it does I'll be looking for an agent to sell my story.

Pictures at an exhibition.

Just thought I'd add a short piece about my younger brother Matt's exhibition of his concert photography at The Blue Mountain Cafe in East Dulwich, home of the luvvy, nanny and double buggy.

The exhibition has been very well recieved with very positive reviews on-line, as well as in local and regional newspapers. If you're in the area pop in and have a look, the food as well as the photographs, come highly recommended.

I've attached a four of the twelve images he has on display: Johnny Rotten, Sting, Amy Harding of the Zutons and of course Pete Townshend.

All the best
