Sketch study after Barks by Pat Kent
This was a piece done as a practice sketch for a acrylic on board painting I did while I was recouperating from a back injury and after a long spell away from doing any drawing or painting.
The painting was also an opportunity to practice using acrylics and afterwards I felt that I could not quite get to grips with using paint and achieving sufficent depth of colour, so it remains unfinished. Although it's based around a Barks piece, it is also representative of someone I know and so it would be nice to finish it.
I'll post the colour version up next to let you judge, any comments on how to get better depth of colour using acrylics would be gratefully recieved.
