MY WORK

Bootsie and Smudge

Bootsie and Smudge

It might be an odd title [a play on the title of a very old UK TV comedy show] but the unfinished boots are a sort of tribute to George Petty, one of my all-time artistic heroes and the smudge refers to the use of a "tortillion" to blend the graphite.

It's my favorite piece of kit at the moment and I'm using them more and more to revisit a lot of old pieces of work that in my opinion will benefit from the additional re-working with this small but very potent piece of rolled-up paper.
