DIARY - And all the world will love you just as long as you are, a shooting star.

I was aiming to call this My Brother Matt, as a bit of a link to the old Paul Rodger's "Free" song, My Brother Jake, but thought that was a bit too tenuous.

I spent a very enjoyable Tuesday afternoon a couple of days ago at the invitation of my younger brother, Matt, watching him photograph a press conference and short publicity gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in London, where Bad Company [Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirk] announced their first arena tour of the UK for many a year.

I sort of got to experience the working conditions and buzz that press photographers have at these events and thought how enjoyable it all seemed. I used to take a few concert snaps for my own enjoyment but realised this is a serious job to the photographers in the pit and now I can understand the pressure they must be under to get that "one" image that they need to sell, all the while being bundled about, and generally harrassed by some of the punters behind.

My Brother Matt, works bloody hard at his job, I think his work is outstanding and you can see what good gig photo's look like if you go to his own site at www.mattkent.co.uk.

In the meantime, I've added a couple of my own snap's from the day, taken on my trusty [but compared with the camera's being used in front of me that might as well read rusty] old compact camera.

Nice day out with my Bruv, very enjoyable, something we don't do often enough.

All the best
